Yukiteru doesn’t have any friends and finds joy only by writing in his cell phone diary and talking to his seemingly imaginary friend Deus Ex Machina. One day Deus asks him to join a competition where he and 11 other future diary holders will fight to the death to become the next Deus Ex Machina.
